odb question

Hi,

I’m playing with odb. I have a simple table:

>>showddl t1;

CREATE TABLE TRAFODION.SEABASE.T1

  (

    A                                CHAR(4) CHARACTER SET ISO88591 COLLATE

      DEFAULT NO DEFAULT NOT NULL NOT DROPPABLE SERIALIZED

  , B                                CHAR(10) CHARACTER SET ISO88591 COLLATE

      DEFAULT NO DEFAULT NOT NULL NOT DROPPABLE SERIALIZED

  , PRIMARY KEY (A ASC)

  )

;

--- SQL operation complete.

And a simple map file:

[birdsall@dev01 odb]$ more t1.map

A:SEQ:100

B:IRAND:1:1000

And I am trying to use odb to generate 100000 rows in this table. However,
odb doesn’t seem to load anything, and it doesn’t report any errors:

[birdsall@dev01 odb]$ odb64luo -d traf -l
src=nofile:tgt=TRAFODION.SEABASE.T1:map=t1.map:max=100000:rows=500:parallel=4:loadcmd=UP:errmax=10
-u SOMEUSER -p SOMEPASSWORD

…

>>select count(*) from t1;

                   0

--- 1 row(s) selected.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I have found the map file quite sensitive to syntax. Blank lines at the end
or certain small changes may throw it off and not give an expected error
message.
One option is to simplify to find the problem (as you may have already done)
We could remove the errmax option, try with a max of 10 rows, try on a
table with a single column etc. Sorry for not having anything more specific.

Thanks
Suresh
