[jira] [Created] (INFRA-6551) Nexus does not completely remove deleted snapshots

Sebb created INFRA-6551:
---------------------------

Summary: Nexus does not completely remove deleted snapshots
                 Key: INFRA-6551
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-6551
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: Nexus
            Reporter: Sebb

I just tried deleting the o.a.commons commons-gpg-plugin from the snapshots repo.

It has disappeared from the snapshots-hosted listing, but there are still remnants under

https://repository.apache.org/snapshots/org/apache/commons/

Likewise for the commons-digest-plugin.

It's not clear whether this is a bug or a feature, but if it is a feature, it's confusing!

I also tried cleaning up the commons-net snapshots.
I then created a new 3.4-SNAPSHOT.
This worked fine, but the 3.3-SNAPSHOT directory is still present and contains hashes for non-existent files.

It looks like maybe Nexus fails to delete the hashes, and therefore fails to delete the containing directories.
