RE: [users@httpd] mod_perl2/apache2 trouble

Posted by Chad Arimura <ne...@alldorm.com>.
Ah thanks mikey, yes I did use PerlHandler in one directive, and
PerlResponseHandler in another one. So that solves the first problem of
executing the perl script.

Now, should I be seeing CGI-PERL as the GATEWAY_INTERFACE environment
variable, instead of CGI/1.1 which I'm currently seeing?

Thx,chad

Well, I'm very new to mod_perl but I believe mod_perl2 uses
PerlResponseHandler instead of PerlHandler. Beyond that I don't know.
Hopefully somewhat helpful. :)

[users@httpd] mod_perl2/apache2 trouble

Posted by Chad Arimura <ne...@alldorm.com>.
I am trying to get mod_perl2 and apache2 to work together, but don't quite
grasp how everything fits together.

I read somewhere that when I output the environment variables on a correctly
setup server, the GATEWAY_INTERFACE would be CGI-PERL something, and not
CGI/1.1 like mine is showing.

Here is my httpd setup:

LoadModule perl_module modules/mod_perl.so
PerlModule Apache2
PerlModule Apache::SessionManager
PerlModule ModPerl::Registry
PerlTransHandler Apache::SessionManager
PerlRequire "/usr/apache2/perl/startup.pl"

<Directory "/var/www/example.com">
	SetHandler modperl
	SetHandler perl-script
	PerlHandler ModPerl::Registry
	PerlOptions +ParseHeaders

    Options FollowSymLinks ExecCGI
    AllowOverride None
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
</Directory>

Environment Variables (abridged) from a see-env.pl script:

SERVER_SOFTWARE   Apache/2.0.47 (Unix) mod_perl/1.99_13 Perl/v5.8.0
REMOTE_PORT   43133
GATEWAY_INTERFACE   CGI/1.1
MOD_PERL   mod_perl/1.99_13

Does this look correct?

Thanks in advance,
Chad Arimura
