[jira] [Created] (INFRA-7978) Mobile confluence wiki site does not return desired content

Miles Libbey created INFRA-7978:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Mobile confluence wiki site does not return desired content
                 Key: INFRA-7978
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-7978
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Confluence
            Reporter: Miles Libbey

When visiting a confluence wiki site, mobile users get redirected to an unrelated, generic page, resulting in a frustrating experience.

For example, if you set your user agent to
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_1_4 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B350 Safari/8536.
(eg the iphone), and visit
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TS/Apache+Traffic+Server
you get redirected to
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/plugins/servlet/mobile#dashboard/popular/10
which
a) has nothing to do with the intended site
b) has no way to get to the intended site
c) has no way to switch the intended full desktop site (the hidden menu item sends you to https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/dashboard.action?updatesSelectedTab=all )
This is especially annoying when coming from a search engine.

If we can't redirect to the mobile formatted same content page, we should not redirect at all. We could send the desktop site (the iphone can handle the desktop page).
