Migration from Apache SOAP to AXIS

Hi ALL,
Are there any tools being developed for this migration. It seems AXIS has 
got totally different deployment descriptor. Would appreciate if somebody 
could provide pointer to understand its tags. BTW is axis performance wise 
better that SOAP?
