[Avalon#] When shall we you release it?

There are a few people across the seas using it. I think making it public
could help people to embrace it and the evolution comes without much effort.

What do you guys think?

It is real weird...I thought the exact same thing. Hammett and some
other person must've shared some creative spark :D

I have been searching my archives, but it looks like I never kept a copy, but
I could swear it is the same image... Ok... I stand corrected.

What are you talking about? I made that image using bryce 5. So sue me! :-)

Actually yes, there where plenty of discussion outside Stephen's head....

Don't take this personally. As Leo said, we are an ignorant bunch who don't
have all the time we want to look into stuff. Soooo, I just don't know enough
of Avalon#. I don't even know of its use beyond yours, but would like to hear
about it :O)

It is not so much that I can't learn it, I am pretty sure I understand the
code to 90%, since I do have C++ experience a decade or so ago.
The reason of "not in my lifetime", is more about the MS empire itself.
Just looking at EULA of products saying, you can't use this product to develop
OSS, just says it all... (Haven't checked if you are allowed to use OSS in
the products though.)

Looking at your docs, I am a bit nervous about the Top graphic, the water and
globe. I have used that graphic in my previous company, and it was paid for.
I strongly doubt you are allowed to use it. Please correct me if I am wrong.
(It is a nice image though).
Otherwise, there is a good beginning to the docs, not less than expected :o)

Cheers,
Niclas

Dont got your point here. Was Merlin release after avalon-dev met some
people that actually used it?

C# is almost the same language as Java. Really. The CLI
(API/Environment/Built-ins) is very different, but its not a terrible thing
that should take a lifetime to learn. So, if validation of the code is
necessary, please look at it and you should understand it. Berin worked
(alone?) in some pieces of it, he can give a hand - I think.

I agree with Leo.

We are now faced with framework not based on Java, but C# which many of us
don't not s..... sushi about, and like me won't do unless Java dies.

So, I would like to suggest that we, the ignorant bunch, are introduced to
"the other people", who are using and working on Avalon#. _I_ only know about
Hammet....

Cheers

Sounds pretty good. Oh, and we need a disclaimer that it has nothing to do
with Microsoft's GUI framework that stole our name.

I think that the PMC had better get more familar with it. That discussion
will undoubtedly take place rather ASAP.

oh, blimey! I have no idea; I think you'll have to help the ignorant
bunch some of us are make up our minds.

- How stable is it?
- How well-tested is it?
- What about documentation?

We'll at least need a bit of docs up on the website first (to direct
people to who have questions). Other than that an alpha release* and
making some waves seems a good idea. Release early, release often!
