regexp

hello

i want to create a regexp expression to filter file types... example... 
only allow '.class' and '.jpeg' etc

excluding '.class' and '.nbttribs' and '.java~' and finally 
'*$(numeric).* numeric beiing a number 1 to 9

can anyone help?
