[GitHub] [parquet-mr] theosib-amazon commented on pull request #948: PARQUET-2128: Upgrade Thrift to 0.16.0

theosib-amazon commented on PR #948:

The pull request doesn't explain why this change was made. Can anyone explain? The system where I'm doing my development doesn't have Thrift 0.16.0 in its standard packages yet, so I'd have to manually install it. Instead, I just hack the pom file to restore it to 0.15.0, and there doesn't seem to be any negative effect. Can we revert this change?
