   We also stumbled over this problem, see this bug issue I created: https://github.com/apache/echarts/issues/21784
   
   I found a workaround as long as it is not fixed, by disabling all the emphasis stuff. 
   
   ```js
   axisPointer: {
     zlevel: 10,
     triggerEmphasis: false
   },
   series: [{
     // ...
     emphasis: {
       disabled: true
     }
   }]
   ```
