Hi Maxim,

I already mentioned somewhere that support for html pages on WB might be
useful and could help here too...

If you prepare "Your Welcomepage" in html with whatever-you-want-content
(counter, clock, bg-music you name it), prepare a zip of it, upload. OM
unzip and one can put the html page on the wb (iframe?).

Greetings Peter

I have a question and a doubt :)

1) question: why chat is so special?
2) doubt: meeting time is only available for appointments

And of cause I need better UI mockup, can someone create one?

Hello all,

I like the idea of the counter. It tells the people "Everything is
fine... just wait... ". We had a discussion about looped audio for
moderated rooms. I think this would also help none moderators. It is
just a way to say "Don't panic" everything works as expected...

If the system doesn't assist in that way you need to fake it somehow.
Additional Whiteboard with a welcome page, etc... The only showstopper
here is the missing action.. no counter, no elevator music...

Greetings Peter

Hello Maxim,

thank you for your idea.
If the community wants it - only Peter wrote a comment that he means it
is a good idea.

You wrote:
/If I do understand correctly what you are requesting: room should be

That is right so far. Not only unusable, the guests are only viewer and
can do nothing (except Chat), unvisible the main screen too.

I wish:
- if room is moderated
- if no moderator (from the list in room-configuration) is in room
all members see a static screen.

For example here is a link:
https://www.hetkamp-edv.de/fileadmin/_processed_/b/5/csm_004_gotoMeetingStartbildschirm_984b00c52b.png
(That is not a "picture of my dreams", but an example.)

An idea, when it is possible:
- an uploaded image, maybe a logo.
- an free editing text
- a counter who countdown the time to a beginning-time

OK, I know that is a lot. I will be happy if you can implement the first
part: "no mod - no content"

With best regards,

René

Hello Rene,

Right now OM has similar functionality

In case non-moderator enters the room before moderator
IF room is moderated AND NOT of type presentation (not sure why room type
is being checked here)
he/she will get "Please wait for moderator" dialog
IF room is not moderated first user will be moderator OR can get moderation
by request

If I do understand correctly what you are requesting: room should be
unusable before moderator will enter
Do I understand correctly?
Is this request supported by community?

wait-picture before moderator enter room

Posted by "R. Scholz" <re...@abakus-edv-systems.de>.
Hello,

a few weeks ago I ask a similar question already.

Yesterday I had a webinar. I logged in 5 minutes before beginning.
And I see a picture with a little (nice and funny) image and a timer
that it begins in 5 minutes.

2 Minutes before beginning the moderator enters the room and the picture
switch to the "normal webinar-screen".

That was very nice.

Is it possible something like that :
a switch in the room-settings: "moderated room, only visible when
moderator is logged in".
When the moderator is not into the room an image is shown (user
definded) with a text (user definded).
No moderator - picture. At the minimum 1 moderator: Room.

In my opinion this could be nice.

With best regards,

René

Re: OM-access with 2 subdomains

Posted by "R. Scholz" <re...@abakus-edv-systems.de>.
Hello Maxim,

I got the JIRA-Message that invitation-link for 2 different
domains/ports should be functionally.

I dont know what I make wrong.

I have 2 domains. 1st on port 5443, 2nd on port 5444.
I log in, go to the room and make an invitation.

And in both cases the url and the port of the settings "application
base-url".

What do I wrong?

Best regards,

René

Hello Maxim,

it ever uses the base-url from the configuration for generating the
link.

Hello Rene,

If I do remember correctly current base URL (retrieved via JS
callback) is used while invitations generation
So this should work as follows:

1) user A access OM at port 5443
2) generates the link (send invitation)
Result: base URL has port 5443

1) user B access OM at port 5444
2) generates the link (send invitation)
Result: base URL has port 5444

Can you check if it works for you?

2019-07-08T17:16:31Z) and I can confirm that jdk-openjdk 12 and
mysql-connector-java-8.0.16.jar works well together.

RE: conversion problem during update

Posted by Xavier M <xa...@hotmail.com>.
Hello,

Yes, it works fine with:
cd (Directory where the file to be converted is)
convert -density 125 OpenMeet.pdf +profile '*' -quality 100 page-%04d.png
(where OpenMeet.pdf is the name of the file to be converted).

Nota Bene : transparency is active in the results (the .png files) : when the background of the PDF-file is white, it becomes transparent in the PNG-files.

Xavier

RE: conversion problem during update

Posted by Xavier M <xa...@hotmail.com>.
Hi all,

I just tested the command lines with a Mac... There must be a mistake somewhere, but it is quite encouraging.

 * I used a copy of the tutorial of OpenMeetings Installation by Alvaro (16 pages), and put it into a directory "Test". I renamed it OpenMeet.pdf to (preventively) avoid some undesirable effects of spaces or long names.
 * I launched a console and cd into this directory.
 * I typed following command:
convert -density 125 OpenMeet.pdf + profil '*' -quality 100 page-%04d.png
  * I got following errors:
convert: unable to open image '+': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/3485.
convert: no decode delegate for this image format `' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/556.
convert: unable to open image 'profil': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/3485.
convert: unable to open image 'profil': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/3485.
convert: no decode delegate for this image format `' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/556.
 * BUT I've got now 32 new png-files, numerotated 0000 to 0035. The files page-0000.png and page-0015.png correspond to the first page of the PDF file.

--> I guess that ImageMagick works, but that there is some problem with the options in the command lines.

Hope this helps...
Xavier

Hey all,

I'm going to run a new installation and wonder if I should wait for M2
or not?
Another question: Will mysql-connector-java-8.0.16.jar (out since march)
also work or is 8.0.16 hardcoded anywhere?

Just to check for step 1, due to the way it is written: do I follow the instructions here?
https://imagemagick.org/script/download.php#macosx

Steps:
1) Install ImageMagic
2) create empty folder, cd into this folder, put any PDF file to it
Using terminal/console app
3) run
`PATH_TO_IMAGIC_BIN/convert -density 125 NAME_OF_PDF.pdf +profile
'*' -quality 100 page-%04d.png`

should be no errors
(NOTE PDF conversion might be blocked in ImageMagic policy.xml file)

RE: conversion problem during update

Posted by Xavier M <xa...@hotmail.com>.
Hi,

I'm a Mac user at work - be aware that it is not a server on the web. I do not fully understand the point, but if you detail me the steps, I can maybe help? I'll find time to do on Monday or Tuesday.

I can test it on Windows
Not on Mac :(

should be easy:
1) install ImageMagic
2) run command
3) report back :)

Hi Maxim,

you are right, to add this would help, if it is a common problem.

This is a really old file. It seems that it was already a pdf-file.
Original content of the folder was

HASH.pdf, HASH.swf, library.xml and for each page of the pdf a
_thumb_page-XXXX.jpg.

Greetings Peter

Hello Peter,

I guess you propose to add "profile" param to OM code :)
I'm OK with it, could you check if your original document is being
converted by OM UI as expected or not?

Re: conversion problem during update

Posted by Peter Dähn <da...@vcrp.de>.
Hi Maxim,

I needed to convert some room files afterwards. I user command out of
the logs and got for some files an error.

/usr/bin/convert -density 125
/SERVER/webapps/openmeetings/data/upload/files/HASH/HASH.pdf -quality
100 /SERVER/webapps/openmeetings/data/upload/files/HASH/page-%04d.png

convert: profile 'icc': 'RGB ': RGB color space not permitted on
grayscale PNG
`/SERVER/webapps/openmeetings/data/upload/files/HASH/page-%04d.png' @
warning/png.c/MagickPNGWarningHandler/1654.

I needed to add parameter +profile '*' . Now convert is working without
error.

/usr/bin/convert -density 125
/SERVER/webapps/openmeetings/data/upload/files/HASH/HASH.pdf +profile
'*' -quality 100
/usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/data/upload/files/HASH/page-%04d.png

conversion problem during update

Posted by Peter Dähn <da...@vcrp.de>.
Hi,

I had a little problem during the last update (from 3.0.7 to 4.0.8). I
didn't realise, that ffmpeg didn't work after server update. The
following om update went throug, despite the fact, that
screen-recordings were not converted.

That why I needed to figure out (with a little bit help of Maxim) how to
manage that afterwards. I would like to share my steps, in case someone
has a similar problem.

1. Get needed information from database (in my case it is postgres)

 select id,hash from om_file where deleted=false and type='Recording'
and dtype='Recording' order by id;

2. save the result in a text file e.g. convert_recordings.txt

3. prepare a little script (linux/bash)

#!/bin/bash
i=0
while read line
do
   #echo "$line"
   id=`echo $line | awk '{split($0, a, "|"); print a[1]}'`
   #echo $id
   hash=`echo $line | awk '{split($0, a, "|"); print a[2]}'`
   #echo $hash
#   echo "bearbeite $id"
   command_mp4="/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg -y -nostdin -i
/OM_OLD_DIR/webapps/openmeetings/data/streams/hibernate/flvRecording_$id.avi
-c:v h264 -crf 24 -pix_fmt yuv420p -preset medium -profile:v baseline
-level 3.0 -movflags faststart -c:a aac -ar 22050 -b:a 32k
/OM_DIR/webapps/openmeetings/data/streams/hibernate/$hash.mp4"
#   echo $command_mp4
   command_png="/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg -y -nostdin -i
/OM_DIR/webapps/openmeetings/data/streams/hibernate/$hash.mp4 -vf
thumbnail,scale=640:-1 -frames:v 1
/OM_DIR/webapps/openmeetings/data/streams/hibernate/$hash.png"
#   echo $command_png
   $command_mp4
   $command_png
done < convert_recordings.txt

4. wait a looooong time (I had over 500 videos)

Maybe ffmpeg command is a bit different for other versions.

Greetings Peter

Re: OM-access with 2 subdomains

Posted by Maxim Solodovnik <so...@gmail.com>.
Hello Rene,

If I do remember correctly current base URL (retrieved via JS
callback) is used while invitations generation
So this should work as follows:

1) user A access OM at port 5443
2) generates the link (send invitation)
Result: base URL has port 5443

1) user B access OM at port 5444
2) generates the link (send invitation)
Result: base URL has port 5444

Can you check if it works for you?

OM-access with 2 subdomains

Posted by "R. Scholz" <re...@abakus-edv-systems.de>.
Hello,

I want to access my OM-instance over 2 Subdomains.
One subdomain use port 5443 (with the correct certificate) the other
over port 5444.

When I send an invitation the link-generator use the setting in the
OM-configuration.
Thats clear.

My Idea:
Is it possible to implement "a wildcard" so the invitation-link use the
invoking address?
Or is it possible to implement different URL-settings for different port?
Or any other idea?

With best regards,

René

Re: https-certificate - Lets encrypt

Hello and good morning,

yesterday in the evening I had successfully installed the lets
encrypt-certificate.

Great.

If anybody wants a "step-by-step-receipt" to implement a lets-encrypt
certificate in a computer behind a firewall
(no access over port 80): Send me a hint. I have some notes (in german).
Requirement: You must have access to the DNS-Settings of your Domain
(Sub-Domain) to add a record.

With best regards,

René

Maybe "certificateChainFile="conf/chain.pem""  should be fullchain.pem?
Additionally you can turn ON SSL debug logging to get more details

https-certificate - Lets encrypt

Posted by René Scholz <re...@abakus-edv-systems.de>.
Hello,

I try to import an lets encrypt-certificate into OM 5-M2.

With a few commands I have 4 certificates (wildcard-certificate):
cert.pem
chain.pem
fullchain.pem
privkey.pem

I try to edit the server.xml, remark the original lines for "connector
port 5443" and replace it with:

<Connector port="5443" ............................... SSLEnabled="true">
   <SSLHostConfig>
     <Certificate certificateFile="conf/cert.pem"
                  certificateKeyFile="conf/privkey.pem"
                  certificateChainFile="conf/chain.pem" />
   </SSLHostConfig>
</Connector>
