1.4.0 upgrade (attn: Marica)

Hi Marica,

Let's test your memory, since this was nearly a year ago :)

In investigating CONTINUUM-2519, I noticed the Modello JDO files were now checked in instead of generated.
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/continuum/branches/continuum-1.3.x/continuum-model/pom.xml?r1=778084&r2=806834&diff_format=h
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/continuum/branches/continuum-1.3.x/continuum-model/src/main/resources/META-INF/package.jdo?revision=806834&view=markup

This means that recent changes are not included in it, like the updatePolicy option.

This appears to have been done because it is not included in the latest version of Modello.

Do you remember why we needed to upgrade to the latest modello? For Java 5 support?

I'm wondering if we should manually update the JDO files, or import the old Modello JPOX code into Continuum's SCM to work with the official 1.1.

Cheers,
Brett

Seems painful, but can do if needed.

So as a result my fix in r899327 hasn't been applied, nor Deng's in r946548.

I think we should just manually update the JDO files and then make sure it's
documented so when there's a change in the model next time, we won't forget
to update the JDO files as well?

WDYT?

Yes plus IIRC, we're getting a problem using the data management CLI when
upgrading to a higher version. The StaxReader doesn't respect the strict
parameter.
