Steve Lawrence commented on DAFFODIL-1883:
------------------------------------------

Handful of performance issues resolved in commit 143731d692363e0a315c560abc3d62060ae3bb86

Will keep this ticket open as a generic "improve performance" placeholder until it's confirmed that performance improvements are sufficient.

> While verifying JIRA ticket DAFFODIL-1876, found that although the majority of the performance degradation from the FormatInfo changes (commit a1d881) has been recovered, there is still performance regression on several data format tests.
> The most significant performance regression occurs with formats army-drss, asterix and nato-stanag tests.
