   I am having the same issue with Android and Ionic 4. It will ask for location permission and then just hang or it will give me Error getting location: {} with the NPM or Code: 1 Only secure origins are allowed using the cordova plugin directly. It does not seems to matter if i run it for debug or prod or ssl etc like mentioned by @MrFragStealer
