Try setting save-sessions-enabled=false in weblogic.xml (http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/webapp/weblogic_xml.html#wp1059284)

This will prevent WebLogic from deserialising and reserialising the state when the web application is reloaded. This is roughly equivalent to Adam's suggestion. The cost is of course that the Faces initialization process will be required on each reload.
