RE: New Student Volunteer

Thank you Andrea, sounds like a good task!

@QA: Can you please grant CANCONFIRM privileges to me?

Best regards,
Pedro

Welcome to OpenOffice! I'm putting our localization list in CC in case
there is some Portuguese translation pending, but I think that at the
moment we don't need immediate help there since the program, the online
help and the website are fully translated to Portuguese.

So your other option, QA, seems to be the best. Just to start, you could
help verifying unconfirmed issues. It is not too complex and it helps in
making issues more visible to developers. You can find a list of
unconfirmed issues at
http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/intro-qa.html (I recommend
reading the whole page, but if you scroll down to "Easy QA Task: Confirm
New Defect Reports" you will see the query). That query returns a huge
number of issues, but if you limit it to, e.g., the Draw issues you get
down to 89 issues at the moment, which should be feasible in two weeks.
If you like the idea, please write to the QA mailing list (see the link
above for all relevant information) and ask that we grant CANCONFIRM
privileges to you. Of course, we hope you'll be around for longer than
two weeks, but this seems an appropriate task for your current assignment.

Regards,
   Andrea.
