You may want to get Dave Newton's apache struts 2 web application
development book (2009, Packt Publishing) which covers many of the newer

I tried to get access to the MEAP Version lately but publisher site has

this book now, will it be published by some other vendor?

Yes, my book is in the works and when published, it will cover 2.1. You can
find a link to it in my signature, but it is not published yet. You can
purchase what the publisher calls the MEAP version which allows you to read
and review chapters as they come out... I haven't released any new chapters in
a while, but I have finally sorted things out that have kept me from the book,
so I will be back to it real soon.

Dave, it looks like your book is right around the corner! Is there a link to
see the ToC, the main page doesn't seem to give a lot of details...
http://www.packtpub.com/apache-struts-2-web-application-development-beginners-
guide/book

In my book, I am covering more about integration techniques with other
libraries and technologies. The Struts 2 In Action book from Manning makes for
a good reference and most of which is still relevant for Struts 2.1.

Struts 2 Web Application Development includes S2.1, but is more of an
S2.1-based end-to-end webapp development book rather than S2.1
reference, for which we have the documentation wiki.
