Recent files in Windows

We have here this old bug on Recent files in Windows Quickstarter.

Does this still exist is it up to date? - I am a bit confused to be
honest. Maybe this one is obsolete?

Hi Pedro,

thanks for the information on the state. My intend taken aside, I rather
fix something I am sure of being successful on, instead of something
that is beyond my skill / knowledge.

But my intend is not to do a fix now. As you might remember I started to
keep a list of all sorts of Issue and try to cluster them to "epics".

The idea is, to solve not one issue but multiple issues in one go,
independent of priority only on the question that they are similar. My
hope is that by taking this advance a proposed solution delivers in
total a better design in comparison to a design that has been of each
issues on its own. In this context it was not clear to me if this issue
can not be closed as "won't fix". But then again I think we should bind
this one more to the fate on the quick starter in general.

What are the much needed improvements you think about? - Just checking
if I have those in my epics. ;)

This was an enhancement request and the feature is still missing. But Quick Starter is now an option not selected by default. Most users won't even know what the Quickstarter is, let alone deliberately turning it on.

Personally I always felt that pre-loading programs was a bad idea: in a slow computer it would make the first boot even slower and on fast computers it was irrelevant...

I believe that if there are any Quickstarter users left they would prefer that the developers would spend their time in other much needed improvements...

Best,
Pedro
