I am not sure I understand the problem in 3.0. I ran the new unit test with and without the call to {{freeze()}} and the test passed in both case. Could you clarify the problem?

I found the unit test a bit complex. It seems to me that the only things what we really need to test are:
# that no INITCOND can be replaced by an INITCOND
# that an INITCOND can be replaced by no INITCOND (taking into account that it can be done by not specifyin any INITCOND or by setting it to null)
# that no FINALFUNC can be replaced by a FINALFUNC
#  that a FINALFUNC can be replaced by no FINALFUNC 

Otherwise, your branches seems a bit old (it my be my fault, sorry :-( ). Could you rebase them?
