[OUTOFSCOPE] Does back button (or javascript call history.back()) produce new request?

Hello dear all,
I have a strange app behaviour,
it seems, that sometime on clicking back button browser creates new
request object (method POST), sometimes no - just shows cashed page.
So I want to clarify - what or which settings impact on this - I mean
can web server impacts on this, can preference of browser impacts on
this?
