[jira] Created: (GERONIMO-425) AbstractPrincipalMappingUserPasswordRealmBridge

AbstractPrincipalMappingUserPasswordRealmBridge
-----------------------------------------------

         Key: GERONIMO-425
         URL: http://nagoya.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-425
     Project: Apache Geronimo
        Type: Improvement
  Components: security
    Versions: 1.0-M2
    Reporter: Aaron Mulder

This class is too complicated. The configuration options allow way more complex stuff than I can really see using. And I'm not sure what it means for a LoginModule to prompt the user for their principal.

Aaron Mulder commented on GERONIMO-425:
---------------------------------------

I think I'll need to describe this issue in more detail, but I fatfingered my first humongous description and JIRA ate it. So consider this a placeholder and I'll describe in more detail later.

[jira] Closed: (GERONIMO-425) PropertiesFilePrincipalMappingUserPasswordRealmBridge

David Jencks closed GERONIMO-425:
---------------------------------

    Fix Version: 1.0-M5
     Resolution: Fixed

While I think the description missed the point of this class -- it was not to be used by users, but as a way to move from one realm to another, creating a Subject with principals and credentials derived from the previous realms Subject, the whole idea of doing this was bad (GERONIMO-881) and this has been fixed by removing the class.
