Re: [Discussion] Geronimo web site update

Looks great! A few minor nitpick comments on the website content:

1) Why are the guiding principles in blue text? At first glance, it
makes it appear as though the items are links.. I know links are
underlined.. though still seems odd.

2) Why are the news events in a table? Does the author field really
provide any useful info to the user?

3) The news archive contains the "current events" in a different format.
That seems strange.. I would expect this to contain only the older
stale stuff..

4) The archive button should be more closely located to the news itself.

5) Why is JIRA top ten on the front page. Seems this should be on a
supporting page..

6)The link to the wiki provides the correct wiki main page.. Though all
the links on that page are dead..

Thanks

Still think it's confusing as many websites use "blue" to indicate
unvisited hyperlinks. Of course, not a big deal since hovering removes
any doubt.

Sounds like a great idea. Though not sure if the author info is really
useful to users.. Are you saying the news items are limited to the last
three that were added? That seems like a strange limitation. Seems all
the relevant news should be available unless the volume of data gets too
large..

Thanks

We already had them in blue in the original version, this blue shade is different form the links. The idea is to highlight these with the same tone as the banner bkground

These are automatically generated, a new way to keep the site up to date. Just click on "add news" (need to be a committer though) and the news will get populated on the home page, just 3 at a time. All the news will get stored either in events or news archive.

this is just temporary till we all agree on using the "Add News" feature from confluence to manage this kind of updates.

it can be easily moved.

we can take it out. This vote is just for the authoring thingy, we need to have further discussion on a separate thread on how we want to organize and display the info.

This is a temporary location, not all the links may work.
