   Normal behavior of legend uncheck is **hiding** the line, see [official example](https://echarts.apache.org/examples/en/editor.html?c=line-stack).
   Selecting ECharts elements is done by **clicking** on them, if selection is authorized.
   So _1.All items selected_ and _2. Yellow item unselected_ cannot be reproduced. Please provide sample code.
   
   That said, working at the issue, a **bug** pops out - [line.select.lineStyle](https://echarts.apache.org/en/option.html#series-line.select.lineStyle) is **nonfunctional**. 
   It has been reported already in #16545.  Turns out [**lines**.select.lineStyle](https://echarts.apache.org/en/option.html#series-lines.select.lineStyle) is the same - see #16981.
   
   Conclusion: 
   _line.select.lineStyle_ and _line.select.lineStyle_ should be **removed** from the API as suggested by @susiwen8 since they are unlikely to be fixed in the forseable future. 
   My presentiment is that _line_ and _lines_ series code may need to be rewritten someday. Currently they behave more line customized _scatter_ series.
