[users@httpd] Apache and Java

How do I configure my Apache Webserver to work with
java programs. I am using Apache 1.3.27. I just saved
a .java program, but when I tried to access it, a text
is displayed.
Is it possible to have them both working? If so could
someone points me to the right directions on how to
accomplish this.
