Good idea from the top angel. But it actually repre
The big one represent the mother (as a country or language who is sad as
her child died for language) and the four other represent the persons
(people who died for language)
So changing that into a book might difficult. But if you can have any
better idea that would be nice. For example the basement of the monument
can be made our of book I think.

OK. You got me. I was staring at it for quite a while before I saw
the shelf of books ;-) But look at the two pillars with the angle at
the top. They are almost like two books on a shelf, with the open end
facing the viewer.

One option is to keep it as the monument and we can speak to the book
theme in the blog post. That way we can also reuse the same logo in

It took me a while to see this, but your new logo is a "multistable" [1]
image where it can look like an urban skyline, or a set of books sitting on
a shelf, depending on how you look it.
But I wonder if the casual viewer would notice this?

We have two primary places where it could fit:

In either case I think the string "International Mother Language Day"
should be used. That might be a good argument for the horizontal approach
since then you would not need to have "Apache OpenOffice" as well. We'd
keep the original logo in the upper left, and then have the special logo in
the center, perhaps linked to a blog post on the subject. If we did that
we'd probably also want a visual hint that suggest the image is a clickable
button.
