There are three enhancements that I would find useful for Maven:

1) Add a reference to the bug tracking site so that it appears in the
generated documentation.

2) Have maven create the build.xml file for the project--it is all
   delegation anyway.

3) Have a project creation wizard for new projects.  It would ask a
   series of questions, and generate the project XML file.
