Hi all,
I'd like to call a vote to release Apache Daffodil (Incubating) 2.2.0-rc1.
All distribution packages, including signatures, digests, etc. can be

Some of the above links are to the rc1 release, maybe a copy/paste issue
and only the link text was changed but not the link itself? Also, since
the rc1 vote was canceled, the rc1 files should be deleted from apache
dist and you need to "Drop" the 1003 files from repository.apache.org.
Neither of those affect this vote though, just things to fix before the
VOTE moves to general@incubator.a.o.
+1 from me.
* Hashes and signatures verified correctly
* All jars in zip/tar/rpm have the same hash
* Can compile from source, all tests pass, and sbt ratCheck pass
* LICENSE, NOTICE, and DISCLAIMER look good
* Source zip has the same content as the v2.2.0-rc2 git tag
* Tested with all schemas

Scanned the release page and found a couple minor things that we might
want to fix before the final release:
1) The scala-version parameter specifies both 2.11 and 2.12. That
parameter value is used in the Maven config, so the dependency looks
like this:
<artifactId>daffodil-japi_2.11, 2.12</artifactId>
which isn't valid. This is for java users, so that scala version
probably doesn't really matter. I propose we just go with 2.12 so java
users get the latest scala version. Note that the sbt dependency uses %%
in the dependency, so it automatically picks up the right scala verison.
2) The level 5 header (e.g. ##### header test) is really small. Maybe we
should just use bold for those, or maybe we should change the css so h5
isn't quite so small?
3) In the DFDLGeneralFormat.dfdl.xsd section , the first bullet has "was
UTC now ````". The four ticks don't show up correctly, maybe just change
that to "was UTC, now empty string or something similar?
4) The bullets for the bug numbers in the DFDLGeneralFormat.dfdlxsd
section look off--makes it look like the bugs are not related to the
bullets above them. Maybe indent those to another level, or just make it
so its part of the related bullet?
5) Missing a "summary" in the top parameters. This will show up on the
/releases page when we change released to true.

I think there might be a bug that could be considered a blocker. Found a
schema that has a lengthKind="pattern" like this:
dfdl:lengthPattern="[\x00-\xFF]{0,80}"
So it should match a length of zero to 80 bytes of any value. It looks
like even if there are 80 bytes available, this only matches at most 64.
I've got a simple one line fix that I'm testing now. I think this
probably deserves an rc2.
Another thing I noticed is the scaladoc generated by 2.12 has some
pretty ugly links. For example, the parse section in this following page
has a really hard to read link, we should make modifications to make
that more legible:

I'm not sure if this would be considered a blocker, but would be nice to
have if we will need an rc2.
