Maven

Hi

Does anybody know why the developers chose to use ant vs maven for Roller 4?

It should be possible to support both, but it may become a maintenance
nightmare. Once you start using Maven's IDE support (to generate
project files), it usually gets out of your way. Once you get used to
using your IDE rather than Ant, it's somewhat addictive. ;-)

We've had an Ant based build process from the start and never had a
good reason to switch to Maven.

There is a patch available to add a Maven based build process and I
hope to have some time to take a look at it once the 4.0 and 3.1.1
releases are out of the way, but I'll admit up-front I'm gonna be
pretty hesitant to switch to only using Maven -- I've had nothing but
trouble with it in the past.
