[jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-8185) GUI and failed async commands issue

Mike Tutkowski created CLOUDSTACK-8185:
------------------------------------------

Summary: GUI and failed async commands issue
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-8185
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-8185
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
          Components: UI
    Affects Versions: 4.6.0
Environment: Ubuntu 12.04 for CS MS
Mac OS X and Chrome for GUI
            Reporter: Mike Tutkowski

This likely has been a problem before 4.6, but 4.6 is where I first explored the issue in more detail.

>From an e-mail I sent to dev@:

Hi,

I noticed that the GUI reports what appears to be success when I try to delete a snapshot, but the snapshot is not really being deleted.

I've tracked down where the snapshot-delete commands fails (as it should fail in this test scenario) and an exception is thrown.

If I try to delete the snapshot from CloudMonkey, I see the correct error message.

If I try to delete the snapshot from the GUI, the GUI claims the command was successful, but the snapshot is (as expected) not deleted.

I wonder if this is a general GUI problem with regards to async commands that fail.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!
