[jira] Created: (INFRA-2711) Confluence Wiki for Wink is duplicated

Confluence Wiki for Wink is duplicated
--------------------------------------

                 Key: INFRA-2711
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-2711
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: Confluence
            Reporter: Mike Rheinheimer

This one is correct and good:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/WINK/Index

This one is old and bad:

https://cwiki.apache.org/WINK/

I'm not sure if it's something wrong we've done in our Wiki, but I couldn't find an obvious way to get rid of that top-level URI. We need to get rid of it though. It keeps showing up in Google searches, and will give users stale and bad info.

Thank..
mike

The first link is your "live" confluence space. The second link, https://cwiki.apache.org/WINK/ is the autoexport generated site (static HTML) which is the preferred pages to point users to for read-only needs.
You don't currently have an autoexport template, so it's using the default behavior, which generates ugly sites.
The fix, is to create your own template and then have a confluence admin load it in for you.....

[jira] Closed: (INFRA-2711) Confluence Wiki for Wink is duplicated

Gavin closed INFRA-2711.
------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Mike, as Donald says, the problem you have reported is not a problem, but a feature. See https://cwiki.apache.org/CWIKI/ for more info.

Specifically, it is the exported page at https://cwiki.apache.org/WINK that users should be going to, with the direct use of the wiki being for editing purposes.

see https://cwiki.apache.org and you will see all other projects are the same, so its not just you.

You will need to edit the Autoexport Templates to make this exported site of yours look like you want it.
Browse around a few of the exported sites to see what can be done.
And, as mentioned have a look at some of geronimos templates for ideas.

Some sample templates can be found at:
  http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/geronimo/site/trunk/template/
You'll be most interested in the GMOxDOC* versions, which are the simplest and used to generate our Geronimo Docs, like:
