[jira] Closed: (TAPESTRY-293) Form name is not set properly
[ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAPESTRY-293?page=history ]
Howard M. Lewis Ship closed TAPESTRY-293:
-----------------------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
Fix Version: 3.1
The form name is now derived from the component id of the Form component (or WML Go component, for that matter) ... as long as the direct service is used (which is the default). The form name is the component id made unique (i.e., it may have a $0, $1, etc., suffix affixed, to ensure it is a unique name within the page). This is generally similar to how component ids are used as form element ids (but made unique within the form, as necessary).
Best practice is always to name the form component (even as jwcid="form@Form").

> It is important to be able to explicitly set a meaningful HTML form name so that it can be used by jWebUnit to write tests that based on explicit and meaningful names. Otherwise, the tests will break, as forms are added or removed from the Web pages.
