[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-7620) Streaming Expressions fails with confusing error in single node installs

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-7620?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14568316#comment-14568316 ]

Joel Bernstein commented on SOLR-7620:
--------------------------------------

Under the covers there is support for non-solr-cloud setups in the Streaming API (SolrStream), that has not yet surfaced in Streaming Expressions. Eventually it will. Until then we'll get better error handling in place.

> The streaming expressions functionality introduced in SOLR-7377 currently fails with very confusing error regarding "zkHost not found for..." if you try to use it with a single node solr instance (ie: "bin/solr -e techproducts")
> we should either make the syntax supported in all solr installs, or we should make it fail with a clear error message indicating that it is only supported in cloud mode
