Apache don't starts.. :(

I'm new in this mailing list so i'll ask a question probably others
asked before. I already searched internet to have a response but I
didn't.

1- I have a Slackware 7.1 with the original Apache distribuition.
2- Apache works (it shows the "It Works!" message on browsers) OK.
3- I downloaded the latest Tomcat sources.. (3.2.2) and compiled
mod_jserv.so with apxs... all OK. I put it in apache/libexec together
with other modules.
4- I downloaded the latest tomcat binaries, installed and started it...
it worked (on port 8080 I can se the servlet examples... OK!).

So I tried to integrate Apache and Tomcat putting the line on httpd.conf
as the manual tells:

include usr/tomcat/conf/tomcat.conf
or
include usr/tomcat/conf/tomcat-apache.conf

now if i try to start apache it tells:

httpd could not be started

no others error messages are given.
Is there a way to solve this problem or to ask apache to tell me more
detailed error messages?

Thanks in advance and excuses from my "italianic" english :)
