Yes! That should be adequate. 

Let me ask around if the project's build.gradle was modified for Sonar. As per previous JIRA, that was the missing piece. Also, can you please point us to the specific code block needed in gradle file? The example at:
https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/sonar_plugin.html

needs configs for db as well as credentials. Thanks
