1.1.0-rc1 Done

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

This is my first time as a release manager, so please let me know if
anything wasn't done correctly.

APR and APR-Util in tar.{bz2,gz,Z} are available at:
http://www.apache.org/~pquerna/dev/apr-1.1.0-rc1/

Please Test help test!

Later on Friday I hope to post a comparison of the public API between
1.0.1 and 1.1.0. (all the new functions..)

With 3x +1 Votes, rc1 would become 1.1.0.

md5 sums:

Looks like some minor apr_sendfile gremlins. A default build on NetBSD
2.0 failed to enable sendfile at all at configure time. Didn't have
time to enable it explicitly, though I may do later today.

Other netbsd oops already discussed on IRC.

I'd guess this is not a regression but a Solaris sendfile API wart:

The following compile warnings are thrown on Solaris v2.9 for apr:

/bin/bash /usr/tmp/minfrin/apr-1.1.0/libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc
-g -O2 -pthreads -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DSOLARIS2=9 -D_POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS

-I/usr/tmp/minfrin/apr-1.1.0/include -o network_io/unix/sendrecv.lo -c
network_io/unix/sendrecv.c && touch network_io/unix/sendrecv.lo
network_io/unix/sendrecv.c: In function `apr_socket_sendfile':
network_io/unix/sendrecv.c:863: warning: cast from pointer to integer of
different size
network_io/unix/sendrecv.c:887: warning: cast from pointer to integer of
different size

+1 for release. apr and apr-util (updated rc1) looks fine via testall on
Solaris 9. testsockets doesn't work, but that's been broken forever - so
that's not a regression. Thanks! -- justin

Brad Nicholes and I just nailed an apr-util LDAP bug that required a non
intuitive workaround within the client (httpd). Let me sort the patch out
and mail the list when it is done, can I propose an RC2?

With the patches I have committed so far, I have tested builds of the
following and got them to work if necessary:

- RPM builds on RHEL3, works fine
- PKG builds on Solaris v2.8
- source builds on Solaris v2.8 and v2.9

All tests of apr-util were built with the --with-ldap flag and native
libraries on that system.

Could you roll an RC2 for some more testing?

Graham

A request to people testing - when you build apr-util, please add the
--with-ldap compile flag so that the LDAP stuff gets tested too.

Many platforms now include an LDAP SDK as standard, if apr-util doesn't
build on these platforms for any reason I need to know about it so it can
be fixed.

Well, I made a fatal mistake in the packaging of APR-Util and I didnt
notice until after I sent the email out. I had included the .svn
directories in the tar. I have uploaded an updated version that is
correctly packaged.

Updated MD5s:
