[VOTE] Release CXF 2.0.1-incubator
This is a vote to release CXF 2.0.1-incubator.
There have been a LOT of bug fixes and enhancements in this release
compared to the 2.0 release. Many fixes are directly a result of bug
reports and requests from users that are trying to use the 2.0 release
and we should try and get them these fixes as quickly as possible.
The two main areas of bug fixes are:
1) XFire migration (including Aegis databinding usage)
2) Code first scenarios - services and clients with no WSDL.
However, there are a lot of improvements all over the place with over 60
Jira tasks/bugs completed:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?version=12312401&styleName=Html&projectId=12310511&Create=Create
The staging area is at:
http://people.apache.org/~dkulp/stage_cxf/2.0.1-incubator_take1/
The distributions are in the "dist" directory.
The "maven_repo" directory contains the stuff that will by pushed
to the m2-incubating-repository.
This release is tagged at:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/cxf/tags/cxf-2.0.1-incubator/
Here is my +1. The vote will be open here for 72 hours.

If you can get it in before this afternoon, go for it. No need to
hold off.

Hi Dan,
I'd like to commit a fix to
a) ensure that BusLifeCycleListener's initComplete methods are called
(this is currently not the case)
b) apply features to the bus only after bus construction is complete
(i.e. after the application context has been created). This avoids
duplication of code such as we have at the moment in
WSPolicyFeature.java lines 105ff and the corresponding definition of a
bean in cxf-extension-policy.xml.
but can hold off until after the release if you want to ...

[WITHRAW][VOTE] Release CXF 2.0.1-incubator
Posted by Daniel Kulp <dk...@apache.org>.
The first issue is very serious. From Jervis's evaluation, the Source
based provider and dispatch stuff is completely broken unless you have a
SAAJ interceptor ahead of it to walk the message first (which is what I
assume the TCK does).
I'll rebuild this afternoon with that fix. Please keep checking for
other issues. Speak now please. :-)

Found two issues with the release build:
- dispatch_provider sample completely broken:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CXF-868
- warning and NullPointerException in ws_addressing and ws_policy
samples need investigation
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CXF-867

Bo
