[jira] Commented: (MIME4J-60) Configurable strategy for line delimiters

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MIME4J-60?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12651875#action_12651875 ]

Markus Wiederkehr commented on MIME4J-60:
-----------------------------------------

I have scanned through the comments on this issue and maybe I don't understand all the aspects that are involved. Some of it was discussed on the list as it seams.

But wouldn't it be a simple and feasible solution to wrap the input stream in a filter input stream that canonicalizes the line endings before parsing the content. I think such a filter could be implemented quite efficiently and all the remaining code would have to deal with only one kind of line ending. I would suggest a single LF for that.

> There is an ongoing discussion about how we should deal with non canonical line endings (isolated LF and/or isolated CR).
> This issue is to track discussion results and proposed patches.
