[VOTE] Move grails-micronaut from grails-core to its own repository
Hi everyone,
I am calling a vote to move the Grails Micronaut module out of
apache/grails-core
into its own repository:
apache/grails-micronaut
We would take the currently working 8.0.x code and put it in that repo
so people who use Micronaut with Grails can work on it there.
The reason is the dependency split. Grails 8, Spring, and Micronaut do
not share the same Java version, Groovy version, or dependency set.
Keeping that island inside grails-core forces dual JDKs, gated builds,
and conflicting BOMs. A separate repo lets each line move on its own
cadence.
Maven coordinates stay org.apache.grails:grails-micronaut and the
related Micronaut BOMs. This vote is only the repo move, not a change in
published artifact names.
Please vote:
[ ] +1 Move grails-micronaut to apache/grails-micronaut
[ ] 0 Abstain
[ ] -1 Do not move it, because ...
The vote is open for at least 72 hours. Binding votes are from Grails
PMC members. It passes with at least three binding +1 votes
My Vote: +1
Thanks,
James Fredley
