problems with MFC
Hey..
I have problems with MFC.
I made new MFC application using MFC wizard and
linking it with xerces. I use xerces version 1.3.0, a stable version.
But, I could see some memory leaks. Visual Studio dumped objects.
(I am using Visual Studio 6.0 with Service Pack 4)
To analyze the situation, I got rid of all code using xerces, compiling
it. In my source code, there's no call to xerces library, but just
linking to xerces. But the visual stuio still dumped.
I didn't call XMLPlatformUtils::Initialize() , so also
didn't call XMLPlatformUtils::Terminate();
In other words, my program didn't do anything about xerces related job - xml
parsing, etc ..,
just linking xerces library itself. !!!!
Below is the copy of the output windows of the visual studio.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
Detected memory leaks!
Dumping objects ->
{43} normal block at 0x00342638, 33 bytes long.
Data: < C > 00 43 00 CD CD CD CD CD CD CD CD CD CD CD CD CD
{42} normal block at 0x003425D0, 40 bytes long.
Data: < |L > 14 7C 4C 10 16 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Object dump complete..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
What is interesting is that there's no problem without MFC.
Did I do something wrong compiling with xerces?
If I did, what was wrong?

Right. I recompiled xerces DLL by MFC dll wizard.
Now it works well.
Anyway, thank you.

You may have to recompile xerces as an "MFC application using a shared DLL"
to get a viable result.
