[Bug 121248] New: Application marked during crash last startup time
cannot be corrected
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121248
Priority: P3
Bug ID: 121248
Assignee: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org
Summary: Application marked during crash last startup time
cannot be corrected
Severity: normal
Issue Type: DEFECT
Classification: Code
OS: All
Reporter: hijaszu@hlfslinux.hu
Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: AOO 3.4.1
Component: ui
Product: framework
Running application (in specific state - not correctly identified) and crashing
Mac OSX results in the application to be marked as crashing during it's
startup.
There is nothing wrong with this feature in the OS - but because there is a bug
in OpenOffice it cannot be corrected. It is popping up a modal dialog window
that cannot be closed, neither button do anything, and because this OpenOffice
remains in it's application startup period. Because the modal window, you
cannot quit the application, just force it to quit (=kill) and because of this
it will be marked again to be crashed during it's last startup.
This information is not stored in the application bundle and because of this,
even reinstalling the application does not help the situation.

--- Comment #1 from Attila Tamás Zimler <hi...@hlfslinux.hu> ---
Even removing ~/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice.org does not solve the
problem.

The main problem is that the window does not react to any of the buttons, but
for quick fix, removal of ~/Library/Saved Application
State/org.openoffice.script.savedState solves the problem.
The window by the way most probably comes from the operating system as it is a
feature of OSX.
