Error installing CDN-IN-A-BOX

Hi

When trying to install CDN-IN-A-BOX following the avaiable instructions I always get this error:

Step 8/21 : RUN yum install -y         /$(basename $TRAFFIC_OPS_RPM)         git         golang &&     rm /$(basename $TRAFFIC_OPS_RPM) &&     yum clean all
 ---> Using cache
 ---> 0eeee89a116c
Step 9/21 : WORKDIR /opt/traffic_ops/app
 ---> Using cache
 ---> 4efc52676dea
Step 10/21 : COPY Dockerfile local.tar.gz /tmp/
ERROR: Service 'trafficops-perl' failed to build: COPY failed: stat /var/lib/docker/tmp/docker-builder408533832/local.tar.gz: no such file or directory

Any ideia about what went wrong?

Thanks

Hi Vasanth,

the /var/lib/docker/... directory is for the internal working of docker
-- you really do not want to change anything there. A local.tar.gz file in
the `cdn-in-a-box/traffic_ops` directory will get around this issue.

Hi ,

Docker have knows this path “/var/lib/docker/tmp/ docker-builder408533832/” but your written “WORKDIR” is “/opt/traffic_ops/app”path but cannot access the path Docker file , make sure the path is correct or copy the file to “/var/lib/docker/tmp/ docker-builder408533832/” I think it will works on .

Second option you can use “COPY” to replace “ADD” command to run & check “/opt/traffic_ops/app” files in this path with same name

Thanks & Regards

Hi Pedro, the cdn-in-a-box is very much a work in progress. I added
this file (local.tar.gz) as a way to shorten the time required to install
all the Perl modules required while building. You can work around this
issue by creating a local.tar.gz file in the `cdn-in-a-box/traffic_ops`
directory or by removing that COPY line from the Dockerfile. I'm hoping to
have a better solution in place next week.

You can create a dummy local.tar.gz file like this: `cd
cdn-in-a-box/traffic_ops;  tar czf local.tar.gz Dockerfile`.
