[jira] [Resolved] (HADOOP-839) Improvements to GenericWritable
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-839?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]
Harsh J resolved HADOOP-839.
----------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
Hadoop Flags: Incompatible change
This breaks the API. Besides, using this is pretty expensive and I hardly think GenericWritable is being used anywhere. We should be moving off to newer serialization techniques, like Avro.
