anoncvs instructions on the website, are they correct?

hello;

are there users of this list that are able to get the anoncvs checkout to
work?

bash-2.04$ cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic login
(Logging in to anoncvs@cvs.apache.org)
CVS password: 
Unknown host cvs.apache.org.


any reports of success, corrections to my command line, etc would be
appreciated!
