Hi Tom,

this could well be dependent on the contents of the file e.g. if the page in question has a lot of resources attached to it (fonts, images ...). Please attach a file to verify.

I'd also ask you to post these type of questions on the users mailing list first [users@pdfbox.apache.org] until it's clear that we are talking about a bug, enhancement request etc in order to keep JIRA clean.
