Marketing

I propose to put a link to http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/OFBIZ/Main+New+features in the 1st paragraph of the official OFBiz site http://ofbiz.apache.org/. Or we could even create a new paragraph for marketing stuffes ?
I'm not a marketing guru but I feel we can improve. Not only developpers look at our OFBiz site ...

I will do, if nobody see a problem with that (and hopefully the site will be updated, about that last point, I may help if possible ;o)

November 2007 Widget Verbose feature should say the parameter is in widget.properties, not
debug.properties.

Otherwise it looks great to me. Thanks Jacques!

Thanks for the tip, I don't know why I was thinking it was always on an Undersun (HWM BTW) server. Nothing worse than something you
think is but is not !

I will take care of that soon...

My idea was to just leave the last (in time, plus some relevant ones) 10
entries (or similar) in the main page... just to make peaople aware that
the project is growing quickly.

You can update the site in the following way:

1) ssh to people.apache.org using your committer's account and password
2) cd /www/ofbiz.apache.org/
3) svn up

The mods will go live approx after 30 minutes.

Hi David, Jacopo,

David : I was just thinking about putting the link below in a 1st time then enhance by creating a new "New features" box near top of
let column.

Jacopo: I wonder if having 2 sources of informations is a good thing. Though we could maybe only copy infos from the link when
updating to keep the site updated (this is a well known point of interest for lurkers). But then we will end with tons of infos, ok
we have only to choose a time window (6 months ?)...

Thanks for you interest on this point.

Jacques

PS : also for Jacopo's idea to work the site would have to be updated every 48 hours. BTW could it be updated today ;o)

Re: Marketing

IMO a small but important improvement would be that of keeping uptodate
the box with latest/important news.
We could even try to assign/delegate the maintenance of that small part
of the screen to a volunteer in the community (committer of even non
committer, even if for a committer will be easier) with the following tasks:

1) write down latest news, even small ones (for example: "implemented
new Balance Sheet report..." or "fixed important bug related to
security" etc...); it would be great to add a news at least every 48 hours
2) commit and deploy the page (if committer)
3) layout improvements

Actually nearly the entire home page is marketing related, could you be
more specific about what you have in mind and how this would fit in
with the rest of the page?
