It looks like somebody started something to deal with this... but never finished it. There's a String property "hdfsURI" variable which is completely unused in {{NonCachingSecretKeyEncryptionStrategy}}. This class has no tests at all, so it's not clear to me that this worked well even before we had multi-volume support.
