I did some tests and managed to avoid 401 on the background delete request. But it fails when the request is distributed to the other Solr nodes, so somehow there is some Runners or thread pools that do not inherit the isSolrServerThread flag :( It is using {{ErrorReportingConcurrentUpdateSolrClient}} to do the distribution, and I think that is where things go wrong. Tried to transfer the server flag into {{ConcurrentUpdateHttp2SolrClient}}'s Runner class but with no success. Ideally these things should be inherited automatically when new threads and executors are spawned...
[~hossman], I see you authored the {{DocExpirationUpdateProcessorFactory}} back in the days, any ideas?
