cannot run Test and deploy updated Bookmarks example

 Hi, Everybody,
This may be a very simple question but I just started playing with Pluto and
could not find answers in either online documentation or users-mailing list.
I've installed Pluto into Tomcat5.0.12 fine, but I have two problems:

1. I cannot access the Test portlet:
I'm getting the following errors from the console that runs Tomcat:
INFO: Initializing PortletContainer [pluto]...
Mar 15, 2004 4:04:37 PM org.apache.pluto.portalImpl.services.log.LoggerImpl
error
SEVERE: Error in Portlet
Mar 15, 2004 4:04:37 PM org.apache.pluto.portalImpl.services.log.LoggerImpl
error
SEVERE: Error in Portlet

And an error page is shown in the browser: "Error occurred in portlet!"

2. I cannot deploy the example Bookmarks portlet (from JavaWorld, updated
version).
When I run the following command from the Pluto's root directory:
C:\Java\maven-1.0-rc1\bin\maven deploy
-Ddeploy="C:\MyWork\ExamplePrograms\BookmarkPortletExample\JavaWorld_Bookmar
k\bookmark_01\driver\bookmark_01.war"

the build works fine until the last "deploy" target:
deploy:
    [java] deploying 'bookmark_01' ...
    [java] finished!
    [java] prepare web archive 'bookmark_01' ...
    [java] CASTOR-Exception: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
\webapps\pluto\WEB-I
NF\data\xml\portletdefinitionmapping.xml (The system cannot find the path
specified)
    [java] java.io.IOException: Failed to load mapping file
/webapps\pluto\WEB-I
NF\data\xml\portletdefinitionmapping.xml
    [java]      at
org.apache.pluto.portalImpl.Deploy.prepareWebArchive(Deploy.java:179)
    [java]      at org.apache.pluto.portalImpl.Deploy.main(Deploy.java:519)
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 15 seconds
Finished at: Mon Mar 15 11:54:27 EST 2004

I checked the C:\Java\jakarta-tomcat-5.0.12\webapps\pluto\WEB-INF\data\xml
directory and the portletdefinitionmapping.xml file is there...
I also tried to track down the build execution and got as far as the
"deploy" target of the deploy\maven.xml file which I think is the one that
fails:
<project default="deploy" xmlns:j="jelly:core" xmlns:maven="jelly:maven"
xmlns:ant="jelly:ant">
  <goal name="deploy">
    <java classname="org.apache.pluto.portalImpl.Deploy" fork="yes">
      <classpath>
        <path refid="maven.dependency.classpath"/>
        <pathelement path="${maven.build.dest}"/>
      </classpath>
      <arg value="${tomcat.home.pluto}/webapps"/>
      <arg value="pluto"/>
      <arg value="${deploy}"/>
      <arg value="../container/target"/>
    </java>
  </goal>
</project>
 - but I don't know what this class, org.apache.pluto.portalImpl.Deploy, is
doing and what parameters it expects (sorry, did not have time to look into
the source code...)

Could somebody point me to what I'm doing wrong here?

Than you!
Marina

For starters, the deploy/maven.xml file you provided is out of date.
You need to update your CVS source tree.
