[jira] [Created] (INFRA-7851) Ignore (comments) at the end of a
name in file.cgi:lname function
Sebb created INFRA-7851:
---------------------------
Summary: Ignore (comments) at the end of a name in file.cgi:lname function
Key: INFRA-7851
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-7851
Project: Infrastructure
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Whimsy
Reporter: Sebb
Assignee: Sam Ruby
Attachments: file.cgi.patch
The lname function in file.cgi currently handles suffices such as Jr.
However it does not currently properly handle entries such as
Robertus W.A.M. Huijben ("Bert")
or
some name (awaiting formal paperwork)
or
some name /* awaiting formal paperwork for his resignation */
This could be fixed by dropping the trailing comment before reformatting the name.
