Apache Roller tips & techniques blog entry

Hi all, I finished an article providing some suggestions on blogging 
with Roller: http://www.jroller.com/gmazza/entry/apache_roller_blogging. 
Hope some of you may find it useful.

Glen,

You are right about GA but I wanted to say the same idea. One GA for one
blog. All blog entries use the same GA.
You are right too it is better and easier to have into vm template.

For addthis we add it only for the post associated with a category "news".
http://www.guywagnerblog.com/fre/entry/dividendes
In this page, the right sidebar is full of posts associated by other
categories (advertisement for the orange block)
We have a macro to add addthis if only the post has the right category.
Strange way to use category :-)

Hi Nicolas, you don't need a GA ID on *each* blog entry, you just put it 
in your side template (which appears on all your blog entries), and 
that's good enough.  GA will still identify visitors per blog entry.

"At the moment, we are using it into VM for a specific post. I wonder if 
it will not be better into administration..." I think if you alter your 
blog entry template it should go in *all* blog posts.  (Is your blog 
publicly accessible?  I'd like to see what you're talking about...)  
Besides, widgets come and go all the time, probably best for Roller not 
to hardcode specific ones in but rather show how they can be 
incorporated via use of templates.

I didn't know the utility to backup the post developped by Dave.

Nice information about Google Analytics. Finally it could be nice to have a
field per blog to set the GA ID.
It could be an easily feature to have.

About enhancing the blog with third party widgets, I could add
http://www.addthis.com
It is easy to use and can reach all social network.
