Download README or HEADER html files
Some (most?) other download directories contain either HEADER.html
(e.g. JMeter) or README.html (e.g. Jetspeed) files.
These are automatically added to the directory listings by the web server(s).
Might be worth doing the same for HTTP Components?
Just a thought.

I've added basic HEADER.html files to httpcomponents/httpcore and
commons/httpclient.
Hope these are OK.
The files are currently only in the dist directory structure - I'm not
sure where these are normally stored in SVN. I'll try and find out.

No idea. At this point a link to the HttpComponents site and
HttpComponents news should be sufficient.
